Intelligent equalisation. The dbx 530 is a 500 Series parametric EQ with exceptional versatility. Three fully-parametric overlapping bands (High Mid and Low) provide you with intuitive control and sound-shaping capabilities. With up to 15dB of cut or boost for precise filtering and control of the frequency bandwidth you can equalize your sound with precision. The 530 features a unique Infinite Notch mode for each band that can be engaged independently without affecting the operation of the other bands. This is ideal for removing unwanted signals and frequencies such as feedback or resonance. And with the ability to switch from peaking to shelving operation for the Low and High bands shaping your sound has never been easier. Flexible Frequency Control Powerful equalization with unique versatility. The dbx 530 lets you take full control of your sounds frequency content. Offering true fully-parametric operation of Low Mid and High filter bands you can shape your sound with precision. Each band overlaps and provides you with bandwidth (Q) control and up to 15dB of reciprocal cut or boost capabilities. And with the ability to switch each band into Infinite Notch mode you can remove those unwanted spurious signals with ease. Infinite Notch mode is perfect for when you need extreme notch filtering for situations such as the removal of feedback or narrowband resonance. This unique mode doesnt affect the other bands when one band has the mode enabled. Plus you also have the ability to switch the low and high frequency bands to shelving operation giving you a vast range of equalization options. Diverse 500 Series Design An intuitive workflow exceptional portability and a space-saving footprint. The 500 Series originally birthed over half a century ago has had a major impact on the audio industry as we know it. And for good reason. Built to provide a powerful outboard format without the monolithic design of some standard rack setups you can quickly and easily swap modules in and out of a 500 Series rack in minutes. This opens up a lot of doors. Experimentation with signal flow changing different modules out for different situations and the added bonus of easily being able to borrow modules from friends. All without the painstaking process of ripping out heavy rack units and crawling around trying to find where the other end of that mystery cable leads to… Its more than just a more convenient option though. 500 Series modules pack a deceiving amount of punch into their compact and portable housings. From faithful recreations of sought-after hardware to exciting innovative and unique concepts. You can build a rack that fits around you no matter where your audio journey takes you. When disengaged the LED will not light and the 530s circuit will be hard-wire bypassed PEAK LED: This LED lights when clipping occurs at any point in the circuit HF FREQ Control: Adjusts the centre-frequency of the high band HF GAIN and Q Controls: Concentric pot. Inner pot adjusts the amount of boost or cut applied to the high band. Turning the inner pot all the way counter-clockwise until it clicks enables the Infinite Notch feature for the band. Outer pot adjusts the bandwidth of the HF peaking filter when the HF SHELF button is disengaged HF SHELF Button and LED: Engaging this button lights up the LED and the high band will act as a shelving filter. The HF Q control will be disabled when this button is engaged and the shelving filter will have a fixed slope rate of 6dB/Octave. When disengaged the LED will not light and the high band will act as a peaking filter with an adjustable Q range of 0.9 to 5. When Infinite Notch mode is engaged on the HF band the state of this button will be ignored and the HF band will operate as a narrow notch filter MF FREQ Control: Adjusts the centre-frequency of the mid-band MF GAIN and Q Controls: Concentric pot. Inner pot adjusts the amount of boost or cut applied to the mid-band. Turning the inner pot all the way counter-clockwise until it clicks enables the Infinite Notch feature for the band. Outer pot adjusts the bandwidth of the MF peaking filter with an adjustable Q range of 0.9 to 5 LF SHELF Button and LED: Engaging this button lights up the LED and the low band will act as a shelving filter. The LF Q control will be disabled when this button is engaged and the shelving filter will have a fixed slope rate of 6dB/Octave. When disengaged the LED will not light and the low band will act as a peaking filter with an adjustable Q range of 0.9 to 5. When Infinite Notch mode is engaged on the LF band the state of this button will be ignored and the LF band will operate as a narrow notch filter LF FREQ Control: Adjusts the centre-frequency of the low-band LF GAIN and Q Controls: Concentric pot. Inner pot adjusts the amount of boost or cut applied to the low band. Turning the inner pot all the way to counter-clockwise until it clicks enables the Infinite Notch feature for the band. The outer pot adjusts the bandwidth of the LF peaking filter when the LF SHELF button is disengaged
